NOTE FROM PRESIDENT-ELECT

Many diverse instruments are necessary to achieve a beautiful symphony. My desire is to have the Symphony League of Beaumont and the Symphony of Southeast Texas continue to have beautiful harmony together. I believe we can have a community that is attractive for families and businesses.

I am excited to have the opportunity to be one of those instruments as the 07-08 President. We have a great opportunity to help the Symphony of Southeast Texas grow. This next year, the Symphony will be interviewing conductors. I want to challenge each member to attend the concerts taking every opportunity to listen to the beautiful music, enjoy the conductors and get hooked on the beautiful harmony of the Symphony of Southeast Texas. We should take advantage of our symphony by attending the concerts at the renovated Julie Rogers Theatre.

The Symphony League is committed to our symphony. We need your assistance to continue the beautiful harmony we have together. When you send your 07-08 dues, take note of what instrument you would like to work with and who is conducting that event. We want to make sure each of you has the opportunity to be involved, so plan on being proactive by making a call to any of the board members or chairmen to see how you can help. Our two fund-raisers, the Debutante Program and the Symphony Ball, are two of those opportunities. Debutante Chairman Margaret Cashiola has already begun a wonderful season for the 2007 debutantes. The Symphony Ball Chairman Suzy Sherron is planning a spectacular evening on February 9, 2008. Mark your calendars!!

For the harmony to be magnificent, we need you to be a part of the league, to commit your time, talents and treasures. I look forward to a fabulous year working with each of you.
