PRESIDENT'S NOTES

The upcoming year promises to be exciting and fun-filled for our League membership and our community. Our chairpersons are hard at work—preparing membership lists, contacting volunteers, establishing committees, planning parties, working with young people, and securing support for all our endeavors. Please say yes when you are called or, better yet, call and offer to help in an area which interests you. Check the website for committee chairs.

My goals are to continue to support our Symphony, to encourage all League members to become season ticket holders, to broaden the base of our Symphony League by incorporating more volunteers in all of our programs, and to raise community awareness of our League. Each of you are critical to the success of these endeavors.

Our membership brunch chaired by Cathy Radford in the lovely home of Suzy Sherron was a great success. The Debutante program has busily involved 36 young women in an educational program which culminates soon with the glamorous Debutante Ball and Butterfly luncheon. The Winter Gala will celebrate 44 young Belles at a premier presentation celebrating the holiday season. Make plans to attend that lovely affair on December 9. Remember our website is up and running thanks to the tireless efforts Mary Ann Smith. By going online, you can renew your membership, read the newsletter, and stay current with League activities. The website address is www.slbmt.com.

What a privilege it is to have the honor of serving as 2006-2007 President of the
Symphony League of Beaumont. I look forward to working with the wonderful women
who work to promote our Symphony, the cultural jewel of Southeast Texas.
