GLOBAL TOUR: 2005-2006
SYMPHONY SEASON
The Symphony of Southeast Texas’ 2005-2006 season takes you on a Global Tour through music. Our “Conductor,” Christopher Zimmerman, will be on stage to “punch your ticket” for our season’s journey from continent to continent through music. Zimmerman’s rapport with the audience is electric as he commands center stage to lead The Symphony through some very exciting “travel notes.” Pack your cares in a travel bag and check them at the door of the Julie Rogers Theatre! We’ll be traveling the globe with some your favorite composers and guest artists. It will be an exciting expedition with the return of violinist Chee-Yun, Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto featuring Laura DeLuca, The Alturas Duo and Pan Flute, and yet another USA premiere, Danzas Peregrinas by Salinas. We will journey to The East, Central Europe, The Mediterranean, and back to The Americas through the music of composers such as Sibelius, Bartok, Verdi, and Bernstein, to name a few. Conductor Keith Brion will lead the orchestra for our Pops concert with the music of John Philip Sousa. Just when you thought we couldn’t make the season any more exciting, November 12th, the Classical Mystery Tour Beatles Tribute Group will be back by popular demand, for a special concert at the Civic Center; and we will have “An Elvis Christmas” on Sunday, December 18th. We may not have a White Christmas, but who will care with Elvis crooning from the stage! It is no wonder the symphony has created a buzz!
We are grateful to our many sponsors for their support of the Symphony season:
