2005 NECHES RIVER FESTIVAL PRINCESSES

PRINCESS KRISTIN ELIZABETH ALBERT

Miss Kristin Elizabeth Albert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Albert, will represent the Symphony of Southeast Texas in this year’s Neches River Festival. Kristin was a 2004 Symphony Debutante as well as a member of the Symphony Youth Guild for four years. She is a student of Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School and has participated in many clubs such as Yellow Ribbon, a suicide prevention organization, Retreat Team, Recruit Team as well as the Anchor Club where she currently serves as President. As well as being in these clubs she is in the math honor society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the National Honor Society. Kristin also enjoys spending time with the Young Life group of Beaumont. She is currently working part-time for Butch Hoffer’s. After graduation Kristin is attending Texas A&M University in the fall. She is very excited about representing the Symphony of Southeast Texas in the Neches River Festival.


PRINCESS MELISSA COURTNEY VERDE

Melissa Courtney Verde, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Paul Verde, is sponsored by the Symphony League of Beaumont. A 2004 Symphony League Debutante, Melissa has served four years in the Symphony League Youth Guild. Presently, Melissa is a senior at Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School where she is involved in many extra-curricular activities. A multi-sport participant for the first two years of high school, Melissa lettered in basketball and softball. Melissa chose to concentrate her efforts in softball and was recognized as the District MVP for the last two years, as well as All-State honors for the last three years. Melissa recently signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play softball for the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Incorporating her love of sports and children, Melissa teaches clinics for girls as young as five years old the fundamentals of softball. Melissa has been named Who’s Who Among American High School Students for four years. Melissa has aspirations of pursuing a degree in broadcasting and communications..
