PRESIDENT'S NOTES

Welcome to a New Year with the Symphony League of Beaumont. The League's Board of Directors has been hard at work during the summer planning the upcoming year with a great deal of enthusiasm and anticipation. We are all looking forward to a year filled with successful fund raising events, meaningful educational programs for our children, and the opportunity to have fun and make new friends while providing support to the Symphony of Southeast Texas.

The Symphony begins its 52nd season with a repertoire that promises to be full of fun and excitement as evidenced by the season’s theme “We’re Hot!” We’re asked to take a musical journey with the orchestra where we’ll feel the earth rumble and be treated to orchestral pyrotechnics throughout the Master Series concerts. A certain hot spot of the season will be the POPS concert in January with original band members from the Broadway show Beatlemania. This incredible replication of the Fab Four sells out audiences across the country, so be sure not to miss it. You’ll be Glad All Over. Concerts will be on Saturdays this year, so be sure to buy your season tickets and get ready for truly incendiary musical experiences.

As we begin a new season, lets meet the challenge to support the arts, embrace our Symphony, and to collectively put a “fire” under our efforts to make this the best and most successful year ever. Buy season tickets and attend the concerts with family and friends. Encourage an aspiring musician. Say yes when asked to give your time and talents to the League and get your friends involved. Be sure to mark your calendars for the Symphony Ball on February 5.

Together we can keep the music playing. I’ll see you at the first concert on October 16.
