PAST PRESIDENTS' TEA

The day of the Past Presidents’ Tea proved to be gray and misty, but the radiance of our beautiful Debutantes superseded all thoughts of weather! The Lamar University Reception Center in the Mary and John Gray Library was brimming with excitement as the Debutantes, their mothers, and Junior Escorts arrived for rehearsal and photo opportunities. Golf-carts, driven by our handsome Youth Guild members, transported guests from the parking lot to the main entrance. The enthusiasm was felt throughout the flower-filled reception area as our past presidents gathered to greet the guests.

The presentation began with special introductions and words of thanks. Symphony League President, Barbara Brookner, introduced the Debutantes who were joined by their mothers and escorted by our Junior Escorts. Mrs. Mignon Winger provided lovely harp music throughout the presentation. The young ladies in their gowns, their elegant mothers, and the young men in their tuxedos brought sentimental tears to the family, friends and guests in attendance on this special day.

Tanya Henderson, Debutante Chairman, did an outstanding job of preparing our lovely Debutantes for the tea. The Junior Escorts were gentlemen in every sense thanks to Elizabeth Phelan, Junior Escort Chairman. I would also like to thank Cindy Dishman, Youth Guild Chairman, for providing volunteers to drive the golf carts. And finally, thank you to all our past presidents who so graciously continue to give their time and commitment to the Symphony League of Beaumont. The day was exquisite, and will provide memories for years to come.
