MESSAGE FROM GALEN

It is an exciting time to be a part of The Symphony of Southeast Texas and we hope you will join us in this Sizzling Season!

We began the 2004-2005 Season Saturday, October 16th, with a blazing performance by pianist Philippe Bianconi. Ann Ohmstede welcomed approximately 50 people into her beautiful home on Friday, October 15th, treated them to an incredible private concert by Mr. Bianconi, and served up delectable treats for Crescendo Society members. The Symphony had the extreme pleasure of participating in the opening of the South Texas State Fair on Thursday, October 21st, by providing a performance by the Lamar Brass Quintet (+1!) on the stage at the opening ceremonies. Thanks to the YMBL for helping to make the Liberty Fest Concert a reality and for honoring us by allowing us to be a part of your big day at Ford Park!

The second Master Series concert of the season will be scorching! Ben Toth, percussionist, brings his varied musical talents to the stage of the Julie Rogers Theatre on Saturday, November 20, 7:30 p.m. This concert features a Texas premiere presentation of Zivkovic’s Tales from the Center of the Earth. With more than 25 years performing experience, Toth has a command of the percussion repertoire that puts you on the edge of your seat.

The Holiday Pops concert will be Sunday, December 19th, 2:00 pm, at the Julie Rogers Theatre, when the Symphony will once again present a heartwarming family concert to round out your holiday experience. Your favorite carols will be brought to life by our Concert Chorale with Symphony accompaniment. Get your tickets today for what is rapidly becoming a holiday classic.
