2004 SYMPHONY DEBUTANTE SEASON

The Symphony League of Beaumont Debutante Season has been a busy one. Countless volunteers have worked to put together wonderful social events and educational activities over the past few months.

The season began with a Get Acquainted Party at the beautiful home of Julie and Mitch Toups. Johnnie Broussard and Lorri Zummo organized this festive poolside luau. The debutantes and their escorts were greeted by the adorable children of the host and chairmen who presented them with flower leis and shell necklaces. Cheddars provided the food for an unbelievable feast that was enjoyed by all who attended. What a wonderful start to the season!

The debs along with their escorts enjoyed an etiquette luncheon at Bryan’s 797. Margaret Cashiola and Melissa Miller orchestrated this event with the help of Mary Lee. The luncheon was absolutely wonderful. The debs and escorts were given pointers on proper etiquette by the vivacious Keely Windam Carter.

Bonnie McDaniel and Bonnie Cokinos once again lent their expertise on the art of waltzing to the debs, their fathers, and their escorts. Norma Motiee provided a beautiful table full of refreshments for all to enjoy. Thanks again to Norma and her committee.

Nancy McGrade and friends went above and beyond in putting together a fun-filled Ranch Party. Cathye and Brian Ellis again proved their immense generosity in opening their home for this event. Nancy along with her mother designed scarecrows adorned with 2004 deb t-shirts and cowboy hats for each girl to have.

Sherry Goth and the past presidents of the Symphony League hosted the Past Presidents’ Tea at the Mary and John Gray Library. Sherry demonstrated to all her talents at this special event honoring the debs, their mothers, and the junior escorts.

The Pre-Concert Dinner was at the beautiful home of Pat and Lew Sheffler. Judy Hallemann provided the debs with a spectacular meal before their presentation at the concert. Pat and Judy gave attention to every detail from the table settings to the flowers and the menu.

The Debutante Ball on October 23 was orchestrated by the talented Carol Smith. Carol provided the families with a beautiful Ball that will be remembered by all as a magical night. The debs, escorts, and their families danced the night away. Carol illustrated to all what a gifted chairman she is. Thank you, Carol!

The season concluded with a Butterfly Brunch at the elegant home of Cindy and Jamie Dishman. Crissy Clarke did a fabulous job chairing this special event. Crissy and her committee provided the debs and their mothers a delicious brunch. Everyone had a chance to reminisce about this Deb season. Finally, each deb released a butterfly to mark her own coming of age. It is my hope that each of these girls achieves her heart’s desire.
