STRING COMPETITION

The 2004 Symphony League of Beaumont String Competition will be held on January 17th at Lamar University. This competition is a cooperative endeavor offered by the Lamar University Music Department, Lamar University Music Majors, local volunteers, members of the Symphony League of Beaumont, local accompanists, area wide music teachers, students and their parents.

This years competition will involve over 100 string students from the Golden Triangle area. The competition underscores the educational purpose of participating in musical contest, keeping uppermost the two-fold benefit of self-gratification in artistic activity and representation of one's community.

All lovers of music are welcome to attend the final round of the competition at 2:30 P.M. at the Music Department of Lamar University.
