PRESIDENT'S NOTES

The Symphony League of Beaumont is off to a fantastic start, thanks to our hardworking and committed volunteers. I am so grateful for the continuous flow of tireless, energetic people who give so much of their time to support the Symphony of Southeast Texas.

We "officially" began this year with our Membership Coffee, as Becky Holland graciously opened her lovely home and Johnnie Broussard and her committee provided a wonderful array of delicious things to eat! Mary Ann Smith did a great job of making sure everyone was signed up and able to "get connected" with our league activities through Dianne Hansard, who keeps impeccable records of our membership. Rhonda Crabtree was hard at work collecting memorabilia to put in our yearly scrapbook, and Robin Gerhardt was taking pictures as our publicity chairman.

Tracy Hughes, Karen Robbins, Catherine Clark and Kathy Gober worked throughout the summer with our Symphony to sell season tickets and program ads. Patricia Yeates has been hard at work to make sure our Symphony office has adequate administrative support. As our first concert approached, Tammy Trevett served our orchestra during rehearsal, Susan Campbell took care of our guest artists, and Helene Nichols secured box office "crews". Bertha Albert made sure our Youth Guild ushers were in their places and the night was absolutely one to remember.

Carol Smith did an exquisite job in organizing the Past President's Tea, where our lovely Debutantes, under the gracious leadership of Cheryl Christopher, and our Junior Escorts, under Cindy Dishman's capable leadership were introduced at the John and Mary Gray Library. Cindy, Kim Perkins, Elizabeth Phelan and Brenda McMakin did double duty that day, as they left Lamar and headed to the Dixie Dance Hall to host over 200 middle school young people for the Tea Dance, honoring our Belles and Junior Escorts . The day was a success, needless to say, all the way around!

There are many opportunities available for you to become an integral part of the Symphony League of Beaumont. If you're not yet involved, "get connected" at our membership link, or contact one of our capable members. As we continue to support our Symphony during this year, I look forward to more opportunities to see the "Heart and Soul" of our organization at work. I hope to see you at the concert on October 16th!
