PRESIDENT'S NOTES
 VENETIAN GOLD BALL

APRIL 2003

VENETIAN GOLD BALL

The Venetian Gold Ball marked the 50th anniversary of the Symphony of Southeast Texas. This elegant gala was held on February 1, 2003 at the Beaumont Civic Center and celebrated the history and lasting value of an organization whose mission aspires to the highest achievable artistic quality in music.

“The evening was Venetian in every way possible, from the food to the beautiful décor, we strived to keep our theme throughout every detail,” said Lisa Parigi, Ball chairman. “We wanted our guests to feel as if they were transported to another place and time by providing a sense of Venetian architecture, music and art.”

The Wayne Dyess Orchestra jazzed up the evening and Commercial Art from Houston played hits from Motown to Disco that livened up the dance floor. The wine list for the “Venetian” evening was provided by Bryan’s 797 Restaurant and included an Italian Pinot Grigo and Valpolicella Classico.

During the event, the Symphony League of Beaumont presented 44 eighth grade Belles along with their fathers. “We are very fortunate to have such an outstanding symphonic orchestra and conductor in Maestro Zimmerman,” said Parigi. “Since this year honored the 50th anniversary of the Symphony, we felt that a lavish celebration was in order to commemorate this momentous occasion.”

"I, along with the Symphony League of Beaumont, wish to thank all committee members, volunteers and contributors for making the Venetian Gold Ball such a successful event. Due to your care and overwhelming generosity, we were able to make this a truly memorable evening. Your support will enable the Symphony of Southeast Texas to celebrate another fifty years of magical music."

Lisa Parigi - Chairman, Venetian Ball
