ABOUT US

The Symphony League of Beaumont strives to support the Symphony of Southeast Texas through fundraising, education, and community awareness. Throughout the year, league members volunteer their time in a variety of ways, which meet both their individual strengths and interests.

SYMPHONY RELATIONS

The Symphony League supports the Symphony Of Southeast Texas by promoting ticket sales, working the box office, ushering at all concerts and providing meals and refreshments during orchestra performances and rehearsals.

FUNDRAISING

DEBUTANTE PROGRAM ~ the debutante program provides the opportunity to introduce high school senior young ladies to the activities of the Symphony League of Beaumont and the Symphony of Southeast Texas. Selection is based on the family’s participation in the SLB and their commitment to the Symphony of Southeast Texas.

SYMPHONY BALL
~ the Symphony Ball is the major fundraising event of the Symphony League. Underwriting, sponsorships, and ticket sales help to make the ball a success, resulting in a generous gift to the Symphony of Southeast Texas each year.

EDUCATION
~ the Symphony League strives to maintain an ongoing relationship with our Symphony by educating schools and the community regarding symphonic music and its influence in all aspects of quality living.

YOUTH CONCERTS ~ Symphony League volunteers usher at all youth concerts presented by the Symphony of Southeast Texas each year.

SIDE BY SIDE CONCERTS ~ area students are given the opportunity to perform on stage with the members of the Symphony of Southeast Texas.  This program gives students in the audience an opportunity to see young people performing on stage with the orchestra in the hopes of encouraging them to pursue music studies.

STRING COMPETITION
~ a string competition is held each year in order to encourage and support area school-aged string players. Volunteers meticulously organize, publicize and present this program, producing many potential string players for orchestras in the years to come.

ADVOCACY
~ the Symphony League of Beaumont is a strong advocate of the arts, and, as such, diligently works to keep members abreast of current trends and legislative issues.

PUBLIC RELATIONS ~ throughout the year, the Symphony League of Beaumont publishes a newsletter, invites the media to events related to symphony activities, sponsors princesses in the Neches River Festival, and works with other arts agencies to promote community awareness of our symphony. As well, the League is represented each year at the Texas Association of Symphony Orchestra Leagues (TASO) and the American Symphony Orchestra League (ASOL) annual conferences.
